Looking to Buy a Used Harley Motorcycle?

Often times, people will get a new bike before breaking it in with a long-distance trip. If you live in the Pittsburgh area, be sure to check out our used Harley Davidson for sale in PA inventory. We have lots of options in stock at any given time and we will be happy to help you select the right one for your personal needs.

1. Know Your Route

The first thing you need to do before you hop on your bike is to know your route, and where exactly you will be going. What roads you will take, how long you will ride between stops, where you rest (if you are riding overnight), and so on. It’s always a good idea to be prepared.

2. Prepare for the Worst

Think of some of the worst scenarios that can possibly happen to you while on the road. While you are planning your trip, be sure to account for these things as potential realities. Things like cold weather, accidents, mechanical issues, and so on. Have a plan.

3. Do a Full Checkup First

Before you embark on your long-distance journey, it’s always a good idea to take the bike into your local shop and have them check it out. Conduct a full-checkup that includes some of the most minuscule things you might otherwise skip. This way, there are fewer variables for you to stress over.

4. Checkups at Each Stop

In addition to having a full checkup done before you leave, it is generally a good idea to do a checkup at each stop. At the very minimum, check your tire health at each stop. You might also look at your oil, lubrication, fluid levels, and so on.

5. Have Internet and Emergency Help Ready

In the event that the worst-case-scenario unfolds, you need to be ready. Have a cell phone with internet access, and basic emergency tools and first-aid kits with you at all times.
